ABB nasce nel 1988 dalla fusione di due importanti realtà industriali europee: la svedese ASEA, fondata nel 1883 e la svizzera Brown Boveri, fondata nel 1891, la quale già nel 1903 acquisisce il Tecnomasio Italiano, la più antica società elettromeccanica italiana creata nel 1863. Leadership tecnologica, presenza globale, conoscenza applicativa e forti competenze locali sono gli elementi qualificanti di un’offerta completa di prodotti, sistemi e servizi che permettono ai clienti di migliorare le loro attività in termini di efficienza energetica, affidabilità delle reti e produttività industriale.Il Gruppo è quotato presso le borse di New York (NYSE), Zurigo (Virt-X) e Stoccolma (Stockholm Exchange).
